Becoming a Wounded Healer

Becoming a Wounded Healer

Fr. Matt Linn, SJ
November 4 – 6

The second half of life is to transform our wounds into the gifts of a wounded healer creating a better world for the next generation. This happens as we forgive and let go of the pain of our hurts while receiving new gifts of compassion and wisdom from our wounds to become a wounded healer. The deeper the wound, the greater is the possibility for new gifts of the Spirit. This weekend will allow time for wounds to heal where we feel we have been hurt by others, our own mistakes, and even God. We will then become gifted wounded healers. Even though Oliver Wendell Holmes said, “Most people die with their music still inside them,” we will be wounded healers singing now and forever our unique life-giving song.

Fr. Matthew Linn, SJ, has focused on integrating physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. Ordained in l973 he currently lives in a Jesuit community in Minneapolis where he trains spiritual directors at Sacred Ground and serves on the editorial board of Presence: An International Journal of Spiritual Direction.
